Hearing Hardware
FM Transmitters:
Phonak Zoomlink <– Solid performer
Phonak Inspiro <– We have two of these. Each one comes with a microphone that can be clipped to your clothing. We use them to setup a multitalker network so that our daughter has greater access to both of our voices through FM technology.
FM Reciever:
Integrated shoes for eXtra hearing aids: No longer used.
Integrated Dynamic for Exelia Hearing Aid. No longer used.
Phonak MLxi <– We have two of these because we have two cochlear implants. These are the antennae that allow our daughter to hear through the microphone (transmitter)
Hearing Aids: No longer used because our daughter has two cochlear implants.
Phonak eXtra <– Tried and True. No longer used.
Phonak Naida <– Returned to Sender
Phonak Exelia <– Impressive but sporadic. No longer used.
Cochlear Implant:
Med-El Sonata <– This is the part that is implanted beneath the scalp and runs to the inner ear.
Med-El Opus 2 <– This is the part that hangs off the outer ear and looks like a hearing aid
Med-El Coils <–This is the part that looks like a plastic circle sticking to the back of the head and has a wire that runs to the part that looks like a hearing aid.
* I really like that Med-El’s suppliers are employing levels of traceability that exceed US requirements.
